Making your vocals DEEP and LOW is an effect that many producers have been using in their tracks. For example, you can listen to this in Tiesto’s The Business:
Or Your Body from Cat Dealers:
Check how not only these vocals are deep and low, but they also stay in key while becoming higher and higher, especially during Your Body from Cat Deallers? This is a trick that can easily be done and I’ll show you how right now!
In today’s video, you’ll learn how to make your vocals sound exactly like that with one FREE and one paid plugin. The free plugin we’ll use today is Melda’s MAutoPitch and we’ll also use Soundtoys Little AlterBoy. In addition to that, you’ll learn how to make your deeper vocals as a bed for your toplines, filling the whole spectrum and making your vocals fuller. You can do this within any DAW and with any vocal that you’d like to, so there are no limitations for your to apply this on your tracks right now!
This could go really well with your vocal mixing process, which is something I’ve covered in this post, especially when you use technique #2 along with your main vocals by making them more dynamic and, therefore, interesting. For example, you could use technique #1 on main leads so they sound like the examples I’ve shown you, or you can use technique #2 to use these lower vocals as a bed for your main lead.
Watch in the video below how you can apply them in your own tracks:
Now it’s your turn
